Glock G27 Review - Glock G27, Brief overview. The Glock line of pistols is incredibly versatile. whether you're looking for a compact, subcompact, standard or long slide, there are plenty of options. The calibers available to choose from are also diverse, from the large bore .45 ACP, to the smaller .22 LR, and many calibers in between, including .380, 9x19mm, as well as the power of the .40 S&W.
One of the most important of Glock's subcompact pistols is the G27, a small and concealable but heavy pistol. The G27 is chambered in .40 S&W, a versatile cartridge that bridges the gap between the heavier .45 ACP and lighter 9x19mm cartridges. The .40 S&W also has the added benefit of being more consistent and repeatable than the 9X19mm, making it easier to switch to a larger caliber round.

As a subcompact pistol, the G27 lacks the magazine capacity of its full-fledged counterparts in the Glock line, and the standard barrel holds 9 rounds. However, it could follow suit with other, larger 22 member states, even if doing so would be detrimental to many of the G27's commitments.

Although there are many subcompact replicas, with the release of the Gen 5 update, Glock made the G27 even better.
The G27 is built around Glock's Marksman barrel, "an improved barrel based on a proven polygonal barrel design that delivers improved accuracy." According to the Austrian manufacturer, their larger guns provide a better seal between the cartridges and the gun. This has the double benefit of keeping the gas behind the bullet as well as less ammunition when firing. Both of these factors can result in less fouling, more bullets, less wind resistance, and better accuracy. In the case of the G27, the barrel is 87 mm or 3.43 inches long.
One of the other improvements to the Gen 5 is the pistol grip. Gone are the finger grooves of the previous diff and in their place are grooveless grips that have been reworked to provide a good tactile surface. The all-metal slide has also been redesigned and features additional serrations on the front of the slide in addition to the rear serrations. As well as an upgraded grip, the slide plates provide a better grip, which should load the bullet into the G27's chamber.
Despite the G27's small size, it's a powerful backup pistol that Glock says has made it popular in the United States as a backup weapon.

I really hate the .40S&W; It's really flexible and twists the wrist, doesn't really do anything ballistically that a 9mm can't, and tends to perform poorly, mostly in Glocks. I like the gun though. It's a great little package that's a great everyday pistol, I should have gotten the G26 but this is so good I couldn't pass it up. I will probably buy a 9mm barrel conversion and pistol parts in the future, plus some magazines. Anyway, here goes a great review, despite some hiccups.
So now I'm a fan of Sub-compact Glocks; they're so comfortable that sometimes I forget I'm wearing them (not really) and I can easily see in and out of my car without breaking through the trash or checking my stomach. The pistol grip is very popular in general, which is surprising given its small stature and short barrel. I can shoot well with almost no effort. It works well for what it is, and it's a small, highly concealable gun that can engage targets at close range.

My main complaint is that without the pink grip extension, the pistol is comical to hold and pretty much useless as a practical pistol; Yes, you can do it, John Wick killing guys with pencils, but is it ideal? No. Glock only includes an extended magazine, what the hell? I went out and bought a Pearce Grip mag extension for the second magazine which gave me an extra 2 rounds for the standard 9 bullet capacity of the weak butt and now I'm out of my setup. Making magazine changes with speed and efficiency can be difficult due to the long pistol grip. However, with some practice, fluidity follows.
The G27 is really fun to shoot when it's not working. OK, so that's only from 300 rounds fired four times, but it's still higher than I expected from a gun. I will say that only three of the things that happened during shooting that the .40S&W never liked either in my personal experience: Something different than standard two-handed shooting, but towards the end of my time, maybe my little wrist has loosened from the high-caliber rotation and a weak wrist has appeared, give it a try, who knows. I used Sellier & Bellot 180gr FMJ to shoot the gun, a brand I had good experience with in the past. Also shooting the G27 is great. Accepted the team from afar, not my best heart to you, but man's minutes. The standard OEM sights are great for spotting the target, but I still plan on replacing them with some tritium sights. I would recommend this gun for everyday carry, especially in summer or warm climates where clothing is worn. I think I will definitely convert the gun by converting the barrel to 9mm; which is a great feature found in almost every Glock chambered in .40S&W, 9mm conversion kits are easy to use.
